Once again, I have been gone, which is the lack of posts. This time I was volunteering at RADical Attachment Camp, which is for families with children that have reactive attachment disorder (RAD). Visit the website for more info. These kids find a safe place at the camp where they and their families can heal.
I was blessed to work there as junior staff. I was in the kitchen most of the time, but was still able to see the changes these families went through as they bonded together and were healed.
These last couple days have been hard for me. Now, before any of you get concerned, I’m doing fine. Really well, actually. Why, if I just said the last couple days were hard? Because God is Still God.
The following song by Heather Williams made me realize that more then ever. I’ve discovered that for bits here and there in life I will have a “theme song” for whatever is going on at that point. I don’t remember all of the songs, but it’s been things like Amazing Grace, Yes We Can, You Alone Can Rescue, Be Thou My Vision, etc. For the past couple days, my theme song has been God is Still God, the song that I listen to constantly. I should have explained this ages ago. I guess I didn’t. 😛 Oh well.
True Freedom is a writing project I have set aside for now. With much headdesking and wanting to pull my hair out, I decided this was best.
Why did I do this? Well, there are several reasons.
1. Major plot issues.
I went into this story hardly knowing where I was going and not knowing very much about story structure. It had more then a few plot issues.
This song has been my theme song in the past few days. The lyrics ring so true.
But our God is with us, so we say…
YES WE CAN!
God answers prayers. With Him on our side it is always ‘Yes we can!’ Always.
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strengthens me. -Philippians 4:13
ALL THINGS! This has been so important to me. God is working. He is working right now. I can already see the evidence of the good things that are coming, and they are amazing! What will tomorrow bring? I am so excited to find out! I know I’ll fall, but I’m getting up again. I will not be brought down for long. God can help me move through the power of love. He is there! That is why I say ‘Yes we can!”
Remember, that as Christians. it is always YES WE CAN!
Here’s a question for all of you writerly-types. When you pick up your pen, or sit down at your computer to keep working on that troublesome story, what is your goal with it? Who are you writing for? Are you writing for a publication? An editor or agent? A certain age group?
This is something I have to remind myself of. Who am I writing for? Who I am I wanting to bring glory to with my stories and words? Am I writing with the hope of being published prove to someone that I can do it? No.
